Structure All questions are 4-choice, multiple-choice, with 1 correct answer and 3 incorrect ones. You either know it or you don't. There are no "two of the above" or "pick the best answer". Each question and all four possible answers stand alone and clear. Test length is Customer-specified - usually 100 Questions. Each test is created from question banks - thus each one is unique and has never been seen before, yet is composed of valid questions. Customers can order the same test next year, from the same books, and it will have different questions. Content Customers specify which books to draw questions from, even which chapters, and in what percentage. We offer recommendations if asked. All books in print from any publisher are available, along with many in past editions. Customers may include their own SOPs, SOGs, Union Contracts, Policies & Procedures, etc. Any document. Orders may mix and match - say 30% from Book A, with none from chapter 5, then 25% from Book B, no restrictions, then 15% from our SOG, only sections 3 thru 12 ... All questions are documented by book and page, and that report is available to customers. Scoring We score using smart-scanner technology at no charge. Turn-around time is 24 hours from receipt of answer sheets. Customers may order answer keys for self-scoring at an upcharge. Custom scoring is available - such as pass/fail only, z-scores, scores converted to some other measure, etc. Customers may keep copies of answer sheets, and we keep records of all responses to all questions by all Candidates on all tests we furnish. Procedure Kit arrives several days ahead of Administration Date containing: - Booklets - Answer sheets - Pencils - Instructions to Proctor - Return packaging, paid - Scoring key, if ordered Orders are placed with one phone call or email, you are billed. Kit arrives. You give test. You pack it all back up and return it to us. We report scores and respond to any challenges. We keep your records so you can place the same order next year or make modifications with a minimum of duplication of effort. Advantages to Using This System 1) Quality, 2) Security, and 3) Cost 1) It is not easy to write good test questions. Candidates will find and challenge any ambiguity or assumption. Test question quality is the most valuable commodity in testing. It requires tremendous resources to achieve. Fire Service Testing Company, Inc., is proud to be recognized as producers of the highest quality of test questions. Our questions are consistently reported to be "fair" and "clear". 2) Security is only achievable, and provable, if the test comes from outside. If anyone in the organization has prior knowledge of the test contents, then sterility is lost and cannot be regained. The organization is vulnerable to any charges of improper sharing of knowledge, whether true or not. 3) It costs about the same to order from us as to do it in-house. When you calculate and add up the hours needed to write the test, edit it, vet it, produce it, store it, administer it, score it, deal with challenges - assuming time and pay for those who would be involved, the costs are comparable. Using us, you get: A. The finest commercial quality, B. From the sources you specify, C. Absolute security, and D. We handle any challenges. For pricing and samples, please click the links below. |
